Visual Media Projects
The visual media course at Virginia Tech is a tough, thorough course where we were required to design five major media projects throughout the semester. The five projects are; videography, photography, data visualization, social media, and, of course, the web portfolio. Each project had its difficulties, however, they are all my best work I am extremely proud of all of them. My best work is either the data visualization project or the videography assignment. They both, in their way, highlight the key points of climate change awareness. The most challenging for me was the social media project. To combine so many sections of media like photography, videography, and journalism into one secular piece is no easy task. Overall, my growth during the course of this class has been immense and it has driven me to create my best work. I hope you enjoy it!
Videography Assignment
Interview - Dr. Stephen Prisley
My videography assignment was designed to generate awareness and provide information on climate change. I interviewed climate scientist and former Virginia Tech professor Dr. Stephen Prisley. Dr. Prisley highlighted the need for concern and called on students to be more aware.

Data Visualization Project
Interview - None
My data visualization project is a short infographic aimed at informing the Montgomery County community about the dangers of climate change right here at home. There is significant data out there showing temperature, precipitation, and air quality changes and the infographic displays that.

Application is no longer available.
Social Media Assignment
Interview - Abigail Salter
My social media project was a targeted climate change call to action for students. I employed the use of photos, videos, and interviews to paint a broader picture in a shorter timeframe. I interviewed a current concerned student at Virginia Tech and she discussed those concerns with me.
